Fitting Florets Collection - graduation

Framed Florets Suite

I teach nursing students and they are graduating in a few weeks.  I thought I would make them a special card.  Fortunately it is not a large class.  I love blue and the blues in this card are just beautiful. I saw this design by another demonstrator, Paula Barin, and she did it as a fun fold.  I changed it a little to make it simpler for me - especially for making in bulk.

Balmy Blue card stock - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/2".  Then cut 1 inch from the front side of the card.
Piece to cut oval with Fitting Florets dies
Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper (DSP) - 3" x 5 1/4 " for front of card
Fitting Florets DSP coordinating piece - 1" x 5 1/4" for inside piece
Basic White card stock - 3" x 5 1/4" for inside, piece to cute oval using dies
Piece to stamp and die cut flowers.
Soft Succulent card stock - piece to die cute leaf
Pearl embellishments.

First I cut out the oval, using the die with my Stampin' Embossing and Cutting Machine (will fit regular or mini), in Balmy Blue, keeping the framed part.  The oval can be used for another project.  Then with the same oval die, I cut it out in Basic White, keeping the oval and saving the frame for another time.
Next, I cut out the leaf using the appropriate die with Soft Succulent card stock.

I stamped my sentiment in Night of Navy ink, a little toward the top to allow for the flower below.

I stamped the flower on Basic White card stock in Momento Black ink and die cut it out.  I then colored using blends - Balmy Blue, Soft Succulent, and So Saffron.

Now it is just assembly.  Adhere the flowered DSP to the front of the card with Multipurpose Glue or Stampin' Seal.  Adhere the smaller DSP piece to the inside of the card on the right hand side, leaving a little edge. (This will be visible when the card closes - remember we cut off an inch from the front side).

Adhere the stamped oval in the center of the front of the card and then adhere the Balmy Blue frame around that.  Next, attach the Soft Succulent leaf.  Finish off by applying the colored flowers using Stampin' Dimensionals.   You can add any embellishments.  I used pearls on the little berries. They are not very noticeable in the photo.

For the inside, I stamped one of the small flowers and a leaf and used the blends to color.  Then I adhered to the inside of my card.  I will probably put a "congratulations" sentiment inside as well.  And don't forget to give your envelope some love as well.

I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I did making it.  I hope my students like it too.
