      Sand and Sea Suite - Thank You

Sand and Sea Suite is a beautiful collection of designer series paper (DSP), stamp set Friends Are Like Seashells (#154368), Seaside Seashells Dies (#156095) and the Seashells 3D embossing folder (#154309).  I made this card for a swap and I just love this suite.  I live near the beach so this set will be well used with me for a long time.  

To create this card, I used the Misty Moonlight cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2'", scored at 4 1/4" for the base.  

The DSP is 5 1/4" x 4".  This was layered onto the base cardstock with Stampin' Seal adhesive.  You can also use our Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Watch the direction of your paper and make sure it flows the way you want. 

The seashell die is one large die.  I cut it out using the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (you cannot use the Mini as this die is too large) and cut the large piece in Whisper White.  SU is moving to Basic White so either one will do.  There are smaller dies such as a starfish and seashells.  This can add more to your projects.  

Once I cut the die, I stamped the images using a variety of colors.  In this case it was Bumble Bee, Seaside Spray, Sahara Sand and Flirty Flamingo.  I then took our new Blending Brushes and brushed the greenery with Pear Pizzaz.  

After stamping and blending, I aligned the piece with the 3D Seashells embossing folder.  It aligned very easily. 

I ran it through the embossing machine and it gave such beautiful dimension to the piece.  Next, I trimmed off some of the greenery where I wanted to put a sentiment.  

I adhered the piece to the card using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue rather than the tape so that it would stick better due to the embossing.  

The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I stamped using Misty Moonlight on Whisper White and used some bubbles from the stamp set in Seaside Spray.  I punched it out with our Double Oval punch (a new favorite of mine) and then punched the matte with the same punch in Misty Moon Light.  

I attached the sentiment to the matte with adhesive and then used Stampin' Dimentionals (#104430) to adhere to my card.  I topped off with three of the Opal Rounds embellishments (#154289).

To finish the card, I added a 5 1/4" x 4" Whisper White piece of cardstock inside with a strip of the matching DSP and some stamped bubbles at the top.  I purposely left the rest blank so you can write on the inside.  

I would also coordinate some design on the envelope using the stamps as well.  I like a card put together from start to finish.
